The Kit:

This kit was one of the first 1/24 scale kits that I built.
I'm not a particular fan of BMW, but I thought that this car had a kind of powerful look about it, and that was apparently enough to warrant the purchase and subsequent build of this model.
I built this model somewhere around 1990. The kit is built totally OOB. The body has been spray-painted with Tamiya TS17 from the can. The rest of the car has been brush painted with Tamiya acrylic paints.

As this build stems from my "early period", there's been no clearcoating, no panelline washing or other enhancements. But (without trying to sound smug) I'm still wondering how on earth I got this car to look so good and why I'm having so much problems achieving this kind of finish some 15 years later...
