News of 2009

2009, August 23

Well, the updates on this site are few and far between. A bit of a recurring message here, as I've been building on and off. More off than on, for that matter. And progress on all projects is slow or even non-existant.
But not without a reason. Right after the previous update, my girlfriend gave birth to our beautiful daughter, Emma. And she is eating up most of my free time now. So modeling has taken a backseat for the time being.

Which is not to say that there is no modeling at all.
After I finished the Peugeot 307 WRC of Gigi Galli, I've started another build in my (tiny but expanding) Gigi Galli collection.
You can read more about that here.

Concerning the Ferrari F430, that project had been put on hold (almost permanently) because of ongoing problems with the finish.
But thanks to a very helpful fellow modeler from automotive forums I received (for a symbolic fee) an almost complete and new F430 kit. So I've started cleaning and preparing the new body for painting.
And hopefully this time everything will go according to plan. There's no new entry in the Build Report section for the Ferrari, as there is nog that much to show yet.

I've also done some minor work on Inspector Morse's Jaguar Mk.II Saloon. But here also not enough progress to warrant an update in the Build Report section.

And apart from the minor work done modeling, I'm also still working on a revamped site. But as with the modeling, this is an on and off activity and it might still be some time before I change the layout and looks of this site...

2009, January 2

Hmmm. It's been almost half a year since the last update. As usual I've been modeling on and off during this period. Weeks of high activity (and by that I mean about 5-6 hours a week) followed by weeks of total inactivity.
Lately even more inactivity because I've discoverd a great computer game (The Witcher - Enhanced Edition). And the last few weeks I've been spending way too much time on this game instead of building models.

I was intending to finish at least one build for the Euroscale Modeling event in Nieuwegein, last October. But it stayed an intention, because in the end I went there empty-handed (but didn't return empty-handed...). And since than the modeling has been really slow.
But, believe it or not, I finally took some time off from the Witcher and finally finished a kit. And I must say, that I'm very pleased with the end-result.
The kit I've finished is the Peugeot 307 WRC driven by Gigi Galli. You can find the conclusion of the Build Report and the new Gallery on the following pages:

I've also resumed work on a few other models, but not really much to show yet, so that will be for the next update.
And hopefully, by the next update, my site will have been renewed too. Because I've been thinking about this for some time (renewing the site) and was intending to get the new site up with this update. But there's some work to be done still, so the old site stays for now.
